Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili is holding political consultations with the opposition representatives at the Orbeliani Presidential Palace.

President has met Ana Dolidze, one of the leaders of the Strong Georgia coalition.

According to Dolidze, the President’s participation in the upcoming internal political processes is significant.

“The President has recently returned from the West where she met with partners. Vital internal political processes are ahead and consultations commence between political parties with the President’s mediation. This is the process where political parties play a key role. Several weeks remain before the elections and we should prepare for the transition period,” said Ana Dolidze.

Dolidze noted that Western partners much attention to Georgia’s elections accentuating peaceful, fair, democratic and transitional polls.

“The President said that our partners stand with us and we have their political and material support. President plays the role of a bridge between our political processes and Western partners,” she said, adding no talks focused on the PM candidacy, which is “correct not to shift the focus of the election campaigning to specific individuals.”

President Salome Zourabichvili is slated to meet Natia Mezvrishvili, a member of the For Georgia party and the Unity-National Movement alliance leaders.
