President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, during a joint briefing with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in Tbilisi, emphasized the efforts made to strengthen the friendship and partnership between the two nations.
“We have done and are doing everything to strengthen our friendship, our partnership between nations. These meetings serve to bring our countries closer and strengthen friendship,” stated President Aliyev.
He highlighted the importance of peace in the South Caucasus, acknowledging that challenges and problems still exist. President Aliyev expressed support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, emphasizing that Azerbaijan and Georgia stand together on these principles in international organizations.
“The South Caucasus needs peace, and today we talked about it during our conversation with Prime Minister Garibashvili. As the Prime Minister has already mentioned, we always support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, just as Georgia supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. We always support each other in international organizations and on all other issues that are in the interests of our countries. The violations of international law, violations of territorial integrity are absolutely unacceptable. We have full agreement on this,” President Aliyev affirmed.
