President Aliyev: Georgia, Azerbaijan implement vitally important projects in infrastructure, transport, energy fields
“Today the two nations, Georgia and Azerbaijan, through joint efforts, ensure not only economic independence but are becoming significant countries for the region and Euro-Asian continent,” said President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev at the joint press conference with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
According to President Aliyev, new infrastructure initiatives are critically important and inevitable for the connectivity of many countries. He underscored that the increase in the capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project and its operation would be “attractive and interesting for many countries.”
“Every participant sees that Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey are initiators of this project, which plays a significant role in supplying Azerbaijani natural gas through Georgia. Many countries buy natural gas from Azerbaijan, these are 8 countries, but this is not our limit. The number of countries consuming Azerbaijani energy resources will further increase,” he said.
On the European continent, we have financial resources and investment opportunities, we have reliable friends such as Georgia, and transit opportunities, and therefore, our opportunities will allow many countries to get reliable energy resources in the coming years through our joint efforts,” he said.
