Police seize particularly large quantities of various illegal drugs; three foreign nationals arrested

Officers from the Tbilisi Main Department of the Patrol Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA) have arrested three foreign nationals on separate occasions on charges of illegal purchase, possession, and facilitation of the sale of particularly large quantities of narcotics.

According to the Ministry, law enforcement officers seized particularly large quantities of narcotics intended for distribution, including methadone and marijuana, as material evidence during personal searches of the suspects and subsequent investigative procedures across various locations.

The Ministry further reported that equipment and materials used for packaging the narcotics were also confiscated as a result of the investigative actions.

The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260 quarta of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carry penalties of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
