In a law enforcement operation, officers from the Main Division for Combating Illicit Trafficking of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have arrested a foreign national on drug-related charges.
According to MIA, the suspect, identified as H.A., a citizen of the Republic of Turkiye born in 1969, was apprehended on suspicion of illegal purchase and possession of a particularly large quantity of drugs. The crime carries a penalty of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
During a search of the suspect’s temporary residence, law enforcement officials uncovered six packages of cocaine, totalling approximately 150 grams—a notably large quantity. The seized evidence is now part of ongoing investigations.
The case is being prosecuted under Article 260, Part 3, Subparagraph “a” of the Criminal Code.
