Police seize commercial quantities of illicit drugs in Tbilisi; three arrested
Officers from the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have arrested three individuals, including two Ukrainian nationals, at different locations, charged with the illegal acquisition, possession, and facilitating the supply of drugs in particularly large quantities.
During personal searches of the suspects, raids on their temporary residences in Tbilisi, and searches of various drop sites, law enforcement officers seized commercial quantities of packaged illicit drugs, specifically “Alpha-PVP” and Mephedrone, as physical evidence.
MIA reported that police also confiscated packaging materials used for the illegal distribution of the substances.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 260 and 260(4) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carry a penalty of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
