Police reveal organised drug trafficking network, seize large quantities of various substances, arrest six individuals
Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department have detained six foreign nationals on charges related to the organised illegal purchase and storage of substantial quantities of drugs, facilitating their sale, and the illegal cultivation of narcotic-producing plants.
Following intensive investigative efforts, law enforcement authorities uncovered that members of the drug trafficking network had established a specialised greenhouse in rented apartments across different districts of Tbilisi, where they illegally cultivated large amounts of cannabis for subsequent distribution.
During searches of the suspects’ personal and temporary residences, police seized a significant quantity of various narcotics, including cocaine, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabis plants, and dried marijuana, which served as key evidence in the case.
Additionally, materials used for the packaging and cultivation of drugs were confiscated during the operation.
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260, 260-Quarter, and 265-Prima of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment.
