Officers of the Batumi City Division of the Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have arrested a foreign citizen, identified as I.K. (born in 1982), on charges of violence, illegal purchase and possession of narcotic drugs, facilitation of drug distribution, and unlawful cultivation of a narcotic plant, the ministry reported.
According to the investigation, the accused physically assaulted an individual identified as D.G. (born in 1987) in Batumi following a dispute.
As a result of investigative actions, law enforcement officers arrested I.K. During a search of his residence, police seized marijuana and cannabis plants, as well as materials used for packaging narcotics.
“The investigation is ongoing under Articles 126, 260, 260-4, and 265-1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides imprisonment for up to 12 years,” the statement said.
