PM’s statement on International Holocaust Remembrance Day

“Today we pay homage to the memory of millions of victims of the Holocaust, the greatest tragedy in human history,” said Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in a statement in connection with the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

“We will never forget the lesson of the Holocaust loudly urging us to prevent in the future any policy grounded in hatred, intolerance, and self-superiority beliefs.

The memory of the victims of the Holocaust obligates every nation and government to secure an international community building on peace, mutual understanding, and cooperation, a world where such evil will never again take place,” Garibashvili said.

Holocaust Remembrance Day is an international memorial day marked on January 27 that commemorates the victims of the Holocaust, the genocide of European Jews by Nazi Germany between 1941 and 1945.
