“There is a very diverse range of events that will be held to celebrate the anniversary, including the celebration of May 26, which will be held entirely under the auspices of the celebration of the 1,700th anniversary of the declaration of Christianity as the state religion,” the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said.

Speaking on the TV program Imedi LIVE, the Prime Minister stated that events are planned both within Georgia and abroad, including at Georgian embassies and with the active involvement of the Georgian diaspora.

According to Kobakhidze, the program will include scientific conferences, expeditions, cultural initiatives, and other activities involving representatives of different generations and social groups.

“Specific events are planned abroad, including in our embassies. The emigration community will also be actively involved, and visits of clergy abroad are planned for this purpose as well,” Kobakhidze said.

He noted that the organizing commission has already largely finalized the event plan and that detailed information will be presented to the public in the near future.
