PM: Georgia seeks partnerships wherever cooperation is possible, ready to renew strategic partnership with US
Georgia should make every effort to establish partnerships where cooperation is possible, and such partnerships must be based on principles, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said.
According to the Prime Minister, Georgia should expand its international ties in all directions as much as possible.
“We have expressed a clear position toward the United States and have stated that we are ready to renew the strategic partnership at any time, which was terminated by the previous U.S. administration. We are prepared to restart this partnership from a clean slate, with a specific roadmap,” Kobakhidze said.
He also addressed relations with the European Union, noting that Georgia remains open to advancing the integration process.
“As for the European Union, we have said that as soon as the opening of negotiations is put on the table, we are ready to sign immediately. However, so far, we have not heard any response from the other side,” Kobakhidze said during the Rustavi 2 TV program.
