PM: WB updated forecast for economic growth increased to 7% which is 2.6 times higher than average for other EU candidate countries
“The World Bank published the updated forecast for economic growth in Georgia. This forecast increased to 7 per cent,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced at the government meeting.
According to the PM, the updated forecast reflects the positive trend observed in the Georgian economy.
“Previously, in June, a forecast of 5% was published; this figure has since been raised by 2 percentage points, from 5% to 7%, reflecting the positive trends observed in Georgia’s economy throughout the year. This forecast is 2.6 times higher than the average for other EU candidate countries.
It is worth noting that, based on the WB forecast, over the next three years, in 2026, 2027, and 2028, Georgia will experience the highest economic growth among all European countries. Maintaining this trend is one of our top priorities,” he said.
