PM: US to gift Georgia half a million Pfizer vaccine shots

The only way out from the worsened epidemiological situation facing the country is vaccination, said Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

According to Garibashvili, Georgia imported 1 million Chinese Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccine jabs. Georgia would receive one million doses of Pfizer jab in stages. He said the US would gift Georgia half a million Pfizer vaccine shots.

PM Garibashvili called on citizens to show more responsibility. “The government has no other mechanism but to propose mass immunization to its citizens,” Garibashvili claimed.

Prime Minister said that imposition of restrictions repeatedly would be a burden both for people and business. “We need successful completion of mass immunization with joint forces,” he stated.
