PM: Ukraine is in war, Georgian gov't not to enter into polemics with Arakhamia, other politicians
Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze described the statement of David Arakhamia, leader of the Servant of the People faction in the Ukrainian RADA, as “regrettable.”
According to the PM, Georgia strongly supports the Ukrainian people.
“We confirm our solidarity with Ukraine and this is expressed not only in words but by supporting over 600 acts, resolutions, documents or other decisions, humanitarian aid. Such incomprehensible decisions, reinforce our faith that some things do not happen as they should. However, Ukraine is in a difficult condition, Ukrainian people are in a war. Therefore, we respect the Ukrainian people and we are not going to enter into polemics with Arakhamia or other politicians,” Irakli Kobakhidze said.
The PM reminded the Ukrainian authorities of the recall of the Ukrainian Ambassador from Georgia and ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili’s allegedly being in a “dying condition.”
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, holding high positions in the Ukrainian government by Georgia’s wanted criminals “do not suit historic and friendly relations between Georgia and Ukraine.”
David Arakhamiia, leader of the Servant of the People faction in the Ukrainian RADA said that 3 conditions should be met for the normalization of Georgia-Ukraine relations: 1. Mikheil Saakashvili (jailed ex-president) should be released and returned to Ukraine; 2. Direct flights with Russia should be suspended, as Georgian people also demand; 3. Aiding the aggressor in bypassing sanctions should terminate.
