PM: Transparency Law aims to combat liberal fascism by revealing funding sources
The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze referred to the incident involving the ruling Georgian Dream MP Davit Matikashvili at Munich airport as an example of what he termed ‘liberal fascism’, stating that this is a phenomenon that must be opposed.
In response to a journalist’s question, the Prime Minister described the attack as another manifestation of this issue. He further explained that one of the primary goals of the Transparency Law is to shed light on the sources of funding for what he considers to be liberal fascism.
“We must prevent the spread of liberal fascism in Georgia, especially when it is financed from abroad. A key objective of the Transparency Law is to ensure public access to information about such financing. I am confident that once the information about the funding of liberal fascism is made transparent, the relevant donors will stop supporting these actions,” said the PM.
