Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili will address the 4th Summit of Leaders in Iceland and hold bilateral meetings, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili.
According to the FM, the PM will highlight Georgia’s European integration and the significance of EU candidate status for the country.
“The Prime Minister will have a busy visit. On the one hand, by participating in the summit, he will voice Georgia’s main priorities, and on the other hand, bilateral meetings will have a special emphasis so that Georgia is positioned consequently; the country receives the status as soon as possible, and our partners learn more about what has been for the fulfilment of 12 priorities,” Darchiashvili said.
The Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe will be held in Reykjavík on May 16–17, 2023. It is the fourth time in the 74-year history of the organization that the leaders of the member states meet under the auspices of the Council.
