PM thanks Hungary for support of Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity

“Every aspect of our cooperation is significant to us, particularly our political collaboration, which we have already discussed in principle. We thank Hungary for supporting our sovereignty and territorial integrity,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the joint briefing with Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

The PM stressed the importance of deepening trade and economic relations with Hungary.

“Every aspect of our cooperation is significant to us, particularly our political collaboration, which we have already discussed in principle. We thank Hungary for supporting our sovereignty and territorial integrity. We also prioritize further development of trade and economic relations with Hungary across various sectors. Notably, we have signed an agreement on investment cooperation, which will facilitate bilateral investments in both Hungary and Georgia. Work in this direction will continue. Tourism cooperation is another special priority. Tourism promotes deeper people-to-people relationships, and we are pleased with the positive trends in this area. We will continue to support the further development of these connections. As you know, we are jointly working on projects, including the Black Sea electricity and internet transmission cable project, where our countries participate alongside other partner states. Such projects will continue to receive significant attention in the future.

During our meeting, we discussed all aspects of cooperation. While we are satisfied with the current state of affairs, there is tremendous potential for deeper collaboration, and we will do everything to fully utilize this potential in the future. Once again, I would like to express my special gratitude to the Prime Minister for visiting Georgia, which is a clear demonstration of his attitude and support towards Georgia. We will certainly continue our very active cooperation to ensure the deepening of our relations and protect our countries’ national interests,” he said.
