The Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said there had been a large campaign surrounding the Eagle Hills investment project and the alleged “Arabization,” which ultimately failed, and the public has now been convinced that the investment is real and will benefit the country’s economic development.

The Prime Minister made the remarks while evaluating debates aired on Imedi TV.

According to Kobakhidze, the debate created an opportunity for discussion and allowed the public to receive more information about the Eagle Hills investment and migration issues.

“In such conditions, when people refuse to participate in debates, it appears they are afraid of discussion, and this has become clear. The topics of migration and the Eagle Hills project are highly relevant, yet the public has been receiving information in a monologue format. When information is presented in such a way, it is impossible to obtain a full picture. Today, there was an opportunity for discussion, and the public probably received much more information on both topics. It is positive that the discussion was held in a largely constructive manner, and I am confident that debates in this format will continue on Imedi TV Company.

As for migration and demography, this is one of the most difficult and sensitive issues. We are doing our best to improve the situation in this direction and have also put forward several initiatives. Regarding the Eagle Hills investment, there was a very large campaign about the so-called ‘Arabization,’ which ultimately failed. When only eight out of 257 apartments were sold to Arab citizens, it became clear that this campaign was unfounded. We also had the opportunity to discuss the financial aspects of the project, and perhaps the public is now convinced that this investment is absolutely real and will benefit the economic development of our country,” the Prime Minister said.
