PM says regional leaders, envoys of EU High Representative and UN Secretary-General attended Iranian President's inauguration
“Iran holds great significance in the region. Hence, the heads of all regional states attended the inauguration,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
According to the PM, envoys of EU High Representative Josep Borrell and the UN Secretary-General attended the inauguration of the newly-elected President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian.
“I attended the Iranian President’s inauguration. Iran holds great significance in the region. Hence, the heads of all regional states attended the inauguration, and envoys of EU High Representative Josep Borrell and the UN Secretary-General were also present. Iran holds great significance in the region. Hence, the heads of all regional states attended the inauguration. The delegation was notably represented, with the presence of the prime ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, signifying a high-level representation of the region,” he said.
Irakli Kobakhidze addressed the concerns raised by Nino Lomjaria, Georgia’s former Public Defender.
“As I was told, Lomjaria was personally instructed to raise the issue. With no success, though. There are “Lomjarias” in Armenia, but the issue was of no concern there because Armenian Lomjarias were not instructed to raise concern. Georgian Lomjaria was asked to do that. This is shameful speculation,” he said.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze participated in the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new President Masoud Pezeshkian held at the Iranian Majles and attended by 70 foreign delegations on July 30.
