“A church will be constructed at the Shovi tragedy site that will be a small gesture of sympathy that can be shown to people who have lost their family members, said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The PM offered his condolence to the relatives of the victims.
“This was the tragedy, which shook the entire country. Today it is our duty to show maximum attention and compassion. There are some requests from locals about the territory’s arrangement and we will do our best to make it,” he said.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and government officials paid tribute to the memory of Shovi resort tragedy victims.
Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili and local government representatives accompanied the PM to the tragedy site.
One year passed after the Shovi Resort tragedy, which claimed the lives of 33 people of which 32 corpses had been discovered and identified.
