PM reveals allegations of corruption-linked payments to UNM's Khabeishvili and TV Pirveli's Meladze
“Levan Khabeishvili [member of the United National Movement party], whose nickname in the payroll was ‘Anita,’ received a monthly salary of GEL 5,000 from a source suspected of corruption. His funding continues to this day,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to journalists.
The Prime Minister also disclosed that he has information indicating Nodar Meladze, Head of News of TV Pirveli, similarly receives regular monthly funding.
“As for Levan Khabeishvili, I want to clarify that I did not insult him. The salary slip listed him as ‘Anita – Levan Khabeishvili.’ It was a semi-formal payroll document. He received GEL 5,000 every month, and his funding persists from a particular source suspected of corruption—specifically, a former team member. I am not naming anyone explicitly. The only individuals I am mentioning are Levan Khabeishvili and Nodar Meladze, both of whom received monthly funding. I have seen Khabeishvili’s salary slip personally. While I do not have a slip for Meladze, I know he has been receiving monthly payments and continues to do so. I have reliable information regarding both cases,” Kobakhidze emphasised.
