PM: Prohibiting anti-constitutional, anti-democratic party is state's responsibilty
“When the political party poses problems with the state’s national interests, and is anti-constitutional, anti-democratic, of course, its prohibition is the state’s responsibility to its own country and democratic system,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Mtskheta.
According to the Head of Government, “banning illegitimate, unconstitutional political parties is a standard democratic practice.”
“Saakashvili’s regime is not a Georgian state. Therefore, we are talking about judging the Saakashvili regime, and of course, this process will not pose a threat to our national interests, which everyone must fully understand,” Irakli Kobakhidze said.
