PM presents four candidates for Personal Data, Special Investigation offices to parliament
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili presented his candidates to head the Personal Data Protection and the Special Investigation Services to Parliament.
PM Garibashvili nominated four candidates to the Georgian Parliament: Tamar Alpaidze and Lela Janashvili as candidates for Head of the Personal Data Protection Service, while Karlo Katsitadze and Emzar Gagnidze as candidates for Head of the Special Investigation Service.
Seventy-six MPs should back the candidate to take the post.
Ruling team MPs tabled a new bill replacing the State Inspector’s Service with Special Investigation and Personal Data Protection services. According to the bill, the Special Investigation Service will probe the offences committed by the authorities, while the Personal Data Protection Service will be responsible for monitoring personal data procession.
