Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is presenting the 2021 annual report of the government’s work.
In the opening remarks, PM Garibashvili said that Georgia is a sovereign state, which belongs to the proud and free Georgian people and everyone had to respect it. He said Georgia faces many problems among them occupation, unemployment, poverty, political polarization.
“We have to handle these challenges with unity, joint efforts, rational and pragmatic policy fit to the national interests and diligent work,” he said.
PM said wages of the public sector employees will increase by 10% from 2022 and the rise will continue in the next years. From 2022, pensioners under age of 70 will receive GEL 260 per month, while those living in the mountainous regions will get GEL 312.
