PM pays tribute to heroes killed in Kojori-Tabakhmela battles

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, together with Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze, paid tribute to the memory of soldiers, who died in the battles for the independence of Georgia in February 1921.

The PM and Defense Minister laid a wreath at the Heroes’ Memorial.

On the occasion of the Occupation Day, the cadets of the General Giorgi Kvinitadze Cadet Military Lyceum, dressed in old cadets’ uniforms, marched with the flags of the First Republic and the state and decorated the memorial with flowers.

Symbolically, the military march of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia in 1918-1921 was performed. The march was restored by the military-track orchestra of the National Guard.

Today marks the 101st anniversary of the Red Army invasion of Georgia in 1921.
