PM: Parliament to convene within 10 days following CEC's election report
“The Constitution of Georgia mandates that Parliament convenes for its first session no later than the 10th day after the Central Election Commission (CEC) publishes a summary report of the elections held on October 26,” stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The Prime Minister emphasized that no decree issued by the President can supersede what is established by the Constitution.
“Those with a basic understanding of jurisprudence will affirm that the Constitution of Georgia takes precedence over any presidential decree. If anyone argues otherwise, they may be facing issues with their qualifications and integrity, or potentially both,” he asserted.
