PM: Opposition wants to make life harder for society, any real opportunity to reduce prices must be used

“As soon as the government announced the process related to consumer prices, nearly 80 percent of the opposition sided with high prices,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

According to the Prime Minister, any available resources for reducing prices must be fully utilized.

“They are unable to hide their intention to make the situation as difficult as possible for society. Around 80 percent of the opposition has effectively sided with high prices. They put forward countless accusations, claiming that strict restrictions were being planned. What we intend to do is study the issue in depth, and wherever there is a real opportunity to reduce prices, it must be realized,” Kobakhidze stated.

Earlier, in a video address on consumer prices, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said the government would actively cooperate with distribution and retail chains to reduce prices. He also called on Parliament to establish a parliamentary commission to assess the issue.
