Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Government Administration reported.
During the meeting, emphasis was made on the friendly relations between Georgia and the Holy See, which are based on a rich historical heritage and Christian culture.
“A meeting was held with the Secretary of State, where we discussed cooperation between the Vatican and Georgia. We thanked our friends for the support they express towards our country. We also spoke about the challenges facing our country and those surrounding it. The discussions were very interesting. All of this strengthens our belief that very close cooperation between Georgia and the Vatican will continue,” stated Irakli Kobakhidze.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili; Minister of Culture, Tinatin Rukhadze; Head of Government Administration, Levan Zhorzholiani and Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Holy See, David Mekvabishvili.
