PM meets Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation
The Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, met with the Minister of International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of the Kingdom of Sweden, Johan Forssell.
The meeting focused on the bilateral relations between the two countries, which have achieved tangible progress across multiple sectors, including political, trade-economic, defense and security, education, and cultural fields.
The discussion also covered the draft law “On transparency of foreign influence.” The Prime Minister stated that the law aims to require non-governmental organizations and relevant media to submit financial declarations once a year, which will contribute to strengthening Georgia’s state sovereignty.
The conversation also addressed the security challenges in the region and Georgia’s process of European integration. The Prime Minister emphasized the efforts made by the Georgian government in this direction and the importance of the continued support of Western partners.
