Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, met H.E. Jassem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Government Administration reported.
The Head of Government of Georgia congratulated His Excellency on assuming the position of Secretary General and wished him every success in his new role.
During the meeting, the parties discussed relations between Georgia and the Gulf Cooperation Council, thereby noting that the further deepening of these ties would be facilitated by the conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the GCC.
Hope was expressed that a positive decision regarding the launch of relevant negotiations would be taken in the near future.
The meeting, which took place in Dubai within the framework of the World Governments Summit (WGS), was attended by Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of Government Administration.
