PM meets Minister of Armed Forces of the UK and Northern Ireland
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili met the Minister of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland James Hipp.
The meeting focused on the defence partnership between the UK and Georgia. It was noted that the format of the strategic dialogue and cooperation in the field of defence has taken the existing relations between the two countries to a new level.
During the conversation, Irakli Gharibashvili stressed that Georgia is actively pursuing defence reforms to further develop its defence capabilities. The importance of Black Sea security in ensuring common Euro-Atlantic security was discussed at the meeting.
The focus was on the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine and the resulting security challenges in the Eastern European region. The need for the international community to do its utmost to end the war as soon as possible was emphasized.
British Ambassador to Georgia Mark Clayton and Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze attended the meeting at the Governmental Administration.
