Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Marjan Šarec, Defense Minister of Slovenia.
The relations and prospects of future cooperation between Georgia and Slovenia were discussed at the meeting. The conversation touched on defense and security cooperation.
As the Prime Minister pointed out at the meeting, Georgia appreciates Slovenia’s unwavering political and practical support for Georgia’s foreign policy priorities, also the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to the Head of Government, Georgia is progressing toward becoming part of the European and Euro-Atlantic communities. The Prime Minister briefed the Defense Minister of Slovenia on the progress in this direction, including in terms of the implementation of the European Commission’s 12 recommendations.
The Prime Minister affirmed the Georgian Government’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Slovenia in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated the Defense Minister of Slovenia on Slovenia’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
