Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan. The hosting dignitary expressed his gratitude to the visiting Prime Minister of Georgia for participating in the international forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the Government Administration reported.
The dignitaries discussed the political and economic relations between the two countries. Attention was given to deepening cooperation in the transit and logistics sectors, as well as the potential for attracting additional cargo from Central Asia to Georgia’s seaports through the Middle Corridor.
The Prime Minister expressed Georgia’s readiness to facilitate the transportation of Turkmen gas through Georgian territory.
Irakli Kobakhidze thanked the President of Turkmenistan for supporting Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the policy of non-recognition of the occupied territories.
The parties expressed their readiness to further deepen cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats.
Irakli Kobakhidze invited Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Georgia with an official visit.
“Held a productive meeting with H.E. Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan. Our discussion focused on strengthening the partnership between our countries and enhancing cooperation in support of regional peace and stability,” Kobakhidze wrote on social media after the meeting.
