PM meets ICDO Secretary General

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, met Arguj Kalantarli, Secretary General of the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) today, the Government Administration reported.

The meeting focused on global security challenges and the importance of close coordination within international organizations.

Georgia’s active engagement in the organization’s activities as an ICDO Executive Council Member was highlighted. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of practical cooperation in implementing training programmes and initiatives aimed at enhancing professional capacities and expertise.

The parties also discussed the organization’s significant role in the development of civil defence systems, promoting disaster risk reduction and ensuring timely and effective responses to emergency situations.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili and Head of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
