Irakli Garibashvili, Georgian Prime Minister met a Delegation from the United States, led by Brian Kemp, Governor of US Georgia State today.
Delegation is composed of Marty Kemp, First Lady of US Georgia; Adjutant General Thomas Carden, National Guard of US Georgia State; Pat Wilson, Commissioner of Georgia Department of Economic Development.
Meeting held within the Government Administration was focused on the discussion of current strategic partnership between the two countries and trend of productive cooperation in various areas. Readiness was expressed towards intensifying and extending the strategic partnership in various areas.
Discussion was related to the prospects of solidifying current economic opportunities. It was noted that throughout the 30 years of partnership, firm support and assistance of the USA has been significant in strengthening the democratic institutions of the country, advancement of defense capabilities and facilitation of economic growth.
Fruitful cooperation between the National Guard of US Georgia and the Ministry of Defense of Georgia was also reviewed at the meeting.
According to the Prime Minister, the Government of Georgia appreciates the exemplary cooperation of the USA and Georgia in defense and security areas, which has played a significant role in the preparedness of Georgia, defense capabilities of the country, resilience and increased compatibility with NATO. Irakli Garibashvili expressed gratitude towards the Governor of US Georgia for the significant assistance rendered for the increased defense capability of Georgia.
