The Georgian Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, met with the delegation of the European Affairs Committee of the French Senate, headed by committee chair Jean-François Rapin.
The meeting highlighted the strong partnership between the two countries, including the friendly relations between their legislative bodies.
One topic of conversation was the European Council’s decision to grant Georgia candidate status. Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized that the next goal is to commence negotiations for joining the European Union. He assured that the Georgian government is dedicated to making progress in this direction.
The meeting noted that Georgia is a reliable ally of France and the European Union, continuing to work towards promoting peace and security in the region.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for France’s support of Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and Euro-Atlantic integration.
