PM meets Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan

The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Government Administration reported.

During the meeting, the dignitaries discussed the productive cooperation between Georgia and Turkmenistan. They highlighted the strong political partnership in both bilateral and multilateral formats, the positive dynamics in the energy sector and the potential to deepen trade and economic ties.

Special attention was given to the importance of connectivity and the development of the Middle Corridor, with an emphasis on Georgia’s strategic role in this context.

The discussion also underlined Turkmenistan’s efforts to promote peace in Central Asia and emphasized the critical importance of stability for the economic development of the countries in the region.

The Prime Minister of Georgia expressed his gratitude to Turkmenistan for its support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
