Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with a delegation of the People’s Republic of China led by Chen Zhou, Vice Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Ruling Party of China, the Government Administration reported.
At the meeting, the productive political and economic relations between Georgia and the People’s Republic of China were emphasized. It was noted that the Agreement on Strategic Partnership signed between the two countries last year will promote further development.
Attention was paid to prospects of further deepening partnerships across a variety of areas, including trade and economy. According to the Prime Minister, major importance in this direction -similar to tourism cooperation and business and people-to-people ties- is attached to the agreement with China on visa-free travel for Georgian citizens which officially came into force a few days ago.
Irakli Kobakhidze thanked the delegation of the People’s Republic of China for supporting Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and reaffirmed support for the One China principle.
