Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that during his visit to Singapore, he held meetings with the country’s president, prime minister, and parliament speaker, where bilateral relations and future cooperation were discussed.

“We are concluding our visit to Singapore. We had very interesting meetings with the president, the prime minister, and the parliament speaker, where we discussed issues related to bilateral relations,” Kobakhidze told journalists.

According to the Prime Minister, Georgia and Singapore have positive political cooperation and growing economic ties, with significant potential for further development.

“We have very positive political cooperation with Singapore, as well as growing economic cooperation, although there is great potential, and these issues were the focus of our discussions. In the first months of this year, compared to the same period last year, trade relations have increased significantly. Exports from Georgia have grown approximately 2.5 times. We want to maintain this trend and encourage it as much as possible,” he said.

Kobakhidze noted that the sides also discussed cooperation in areas such as education and healthcare, emphasizing Singapore’s experience in integrating modern technologies into these sectors.

“This experience will be very useful for us, and naturally, we will take it into account while implementing reforms. We agreed that relations will be further deepened. Several important agreements are currently under discussion, and I am confident that negotiations will be completed soon, further strengthening bilateral relations between Georgia and Singapore,” the Prime Minister said.
