PM Kobakhidze proposes trilateral cooperation initiative for peace and stability amid geopolitical challenges

“We are sincerely interested in taking concrete practical steps and fostering regional cooperation. Georgia offers the parties a trilateral cooperation initiative that envisions the involvement of all three South Caucasus countries across various sectors,” stated the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, during the opening of the 10th session of the Governmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Kobakhidze noted that the commission’s session would promote dynamic cooperation between the two countries.

“It is a great honour for me to be in Baku today, a city that amazes us with its beauty and pace of development with each visit. I am pleased to have the opportunity to co-chair the 10th Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Commission between Georgia and Azerbaijan for the first time. I am deeply convinced that today’s session will unveil new opportunities for expanding cooperation between our countries, making our strategic partnership even more dynamic and fruitful.

Additionally, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Azerbaijan on successfully hosting the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP-29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. I am glad to have participated in the work of COP-29. I reaffirm that Georgia and Azerbaijan steadfastly support each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and I thank you for that,” the Prime Minister remarked.

According to Irakli Kobakhidze, in the context of rapidly changing and complex geopolitical circumstances in the region and the world, peace and stability are even more crucial as key elements for regional development and sustainable prosperity.

“I am confident that through our joint efforts, we will not only overcome all challenges but also seize existing opportunities for even more effective cooperation. We are sincerely interested in implementing concrete practical steps and promoting regional cooperation. Georgia offers the parties a trilateral cooperation initiative that envisions the involvement of all three South Caucasus countries in various sectors,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
