PM Kobakhidze: Our relations with Central Asian nations are of paramount importance

“In terms of foreign policy, the past two months have been exceptionally active for the Government of Georgia. We were particularly active in the direction of Central Asia,” the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, stated during today’s cabinet meeting.

According to the Head of Government, three high-level state visits to Central Asian nations, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, were carried out during this period.

“Additionally, Georgia hosted visits by the Presidents of two Central Asian nations, namely Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Crucially, we concluded Strategic Partnership Agreements with both Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Naturally, these agreements, and our broader cooperation with Central Asian states, carry immense political weight and significant economic importance. Georgia connects seven landlocked countries to the Black Sea and, by extension, to Western markets. Consequently, our relations with Central Asian nations are of paramount importance for fostering global connectivity. Moving forward, the government will spare no effort to deepen both political and trade-economic ties with the countries of Central Asia even further,” the Prime Minister declared.
