Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

According to the Government Administration, the meeting focused on the positive dynamics of developing political and economic cooperation between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates.

The head of government emphasised the special significance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit and noted that it will contribute to further deepening the partnership between the two countries.

“Today is a day of particular significance for us. We are honoured to host a delegation under the President’s leadership from the United Arab Emirates for the first time, which is a truly tremendous privilege. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude once again for your visit to Georgia.

Your visit is a clear sign of your interest in our country, and we sincerely appreciate it. Our relations are characterised by very positive dynamics, with close political and economic cooperation.

We are highly committed to deepening the cooperation and partnership between our two countries across all areas. We are pleased that companies from your nation are very actively represented in our country.

Currently, four major companies operate successfully in Georgia, with all the necessary conditions in place to facilitate their economic activities. Additionally, we are pleased that, under your leadership, we have signed a very significant investment agreement, which envisions the implementation of economic projects in Georgia by Eagle Hills and EMAAR.

Thank you for your support. This is a very important initiative for us. We also greatly appreciate the cooperation regarding the development of a dry port in Tbilisi. We hope that such initiatives will become even more numerous in the future and that both political and economic ties between our countries will deepen further.

Your visit will lay a strong foundation for our continued fruitful cooperation across all areas. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude once again for your visit to Georgia. This day holds particular significance for our country and for each of us,” declared Irakli Kobakhidze.

The President of the United Arab Emirates highlighted the importance of close cooperation between Georgia and the UAE across various sectors. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the increasing momentum of trade relations and reaffirmed the two countries’ shared commitment to peace and stability.

“Dear Friend, Mr Prime Minister, I am very pleased to visit Georgia. Meeting with you once again, following our encounter in Abu Dhabi, reaffirms our commitment to continuing our cooperation. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you a very happy birthday. I wish you success, a joyful life, and good health.

There is a strong bond between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates. Moving forward, I am confident that this will be further strengthened through the deepening of our collaboration and the realisation of many more projects, particularly in the fields of trade, business, economics, industry, and energy, as well as in sectors that are priorities for both nations.

I would highlight the increase in trade relations between our countries, which now amount to millions of dollars. This cooperation involves substantial volumes, and there is no doubt that economic collaboration between the two countries will continue, especially in the transportation sector. The United Arab Emirates will support the realisation of projects outlined in agreements, which various investment companies are currently implementing. This further strengthens the relationship between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates.

Our two nations share a common vision centred on stability, peace, and people-to-people connections. Moreover, both countries are committed to deepening cooperation in the cultural sphere and sharing our rich heritage, which forms the foundation for the development of both nations.

I wish to confirm that the United Arab Emirates intends to strengthen partnerships with the countries of the Caucasus region in general, and to promote stability, peace, and shared interests. Peace remains the cornerstone of economic development and growth.

Once again, I thank you and wish Georgia and the Georgian people stability, progress, and success,” remarked Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Members of both countries’ cabinets of ministers participated in the expanded format meeting held at the Government Administration.

Following the conclusion of the meeting, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, and Mohamed Alabbar, founder and chairman of Eagle Hills Group, exchanged agreements outlining the realisation of two large-scale investment projects in Georgia valued at USD 6 billion.

The official ceremony for the exchange of documents was attended by Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
