PM Kobakhidze meets Changi Airports International CEO in Singapore

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, alongside an official delegation, met with Eugene Gan, Chief Executive Officer of Changi Airports International, the Government Administration reported.

According to the Government Administration, discussions centred on the rapid growth trajectory of Georgia’s aviation and tourism sectors, noting that nearly 80 airlines currently operate in the country, connecting to over 140 destinations worldwide.

“The Prime Minister outlined the national aviation infrastructure strategy and detailed the substantial public investments being directed into expanding Georgia’s international airports to meet rising demand,” the statement read.

The administration also added that particular attention was given to expanding the capacity of Tbilisi International Airport and constructing a new mega-airport in Vaziani.

“Designed to accommodate up to 20 million passengers, the project aims to solidify Georgia’s standing as a vital regional transit hub connecting Europe and Asia. The two sides also explored opportunities for knowledge-sharing and future collaboration with Changi Airports International, a global leader in airport development and management, focusing on airport expansion, operational management, and boosting overall infrastructure efficiency,” the statement read.
