PM Kobakhidze hopes for swift peace in our friend Ukraine

“Today marks three years since the war began in Ukraine. This is truly a tragic date in the history of our friend country, Ukraine,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze declared at today’s government meeting.

The Prime Minister expressed hope for a swift return to peace in Ukraine.

“The consequences of war are devastating for our friend country and our friend people. Countless lives have been lost in this war. Nearly ten million Ukrainians have become displaced persons and refugees. Twenty per cent of Ukraine’s territory is currently occupied by the Russian Federation, with infrastructure, economy, and energy systems destroyed. Ukraine’s foreign debt is approaching almost 100% of its economy. This year’s figure is 96%, and by year’s end, this indicator will exceed 100%.

We wish peace for our friend country and friend people. It is fundamentally important that the process which has begun, relating to establishing peace in Ukraine, concludes successfully as quickly as possible. Once again, I want to express hope that peace will be restored as soon as possible in our friend country, Ukraine,” the Prime Minister stated.
