PM issues decree on use of defence forces in rescue efforts of natural calamities
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili signed a decree on the use of defence forces upon necessity in the rescue efforts of natural calamities.
National Guards with special equipment and different units of the Georgian Defence Forces will join the rescue efforts from August 5 in the landslide-ravaged Shovi resort of the Racha region.
The death toll in the landslide-hit Shovi resort rose to eleven on August 4. Twenty-five people remain missing, while 210 were safely evacuated from the disaster zone.
A deadly landslide struck the resort on August 3.
