PM, Interior Minister, travel to Batumi

Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri left for Batumi after part of a residential building collapsed earlier today in the city centre.

Rescuers have rescued two children from the rubble and keep looking for other people stuck in the wreckage.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation into the fact and is working to identify potential victims.

Head of the Adjara Patrol Police told journalists that intensive rescue works are going on, and additional forces are being mobilized from neighbouring regions.

Part of a five-storey residential building on May 26 Street in Batumi collapsed earlier today.
