PM instructs his representatives to negotiate with anti-Namakhvani HPP protesters
Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili instructed the Head of the government administration’s department for relations with regions and two governors to continue dialogue with the anti-Namakhvani HPP protesters. PM’s representatives are in Kutaisi for the moment, the press service of the Georgian Government reported.
“Leri Barnabishvili, Head of the government administration’s department for relations with regions, Zviad Shalamberidze and Parmen Margvelidze, state representatives in Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi Kvemo Svaneti Region, are at the Imereti Region State Representative Administration. They are ready to listen to the protesters,” the report reads.
One of the anti-Namakhvani HPP protesters stated earlier that the demonstrators are ready for a dialogue with the Prime Minister or his decision-maker representative if they were allowed into the village of Namakhvani.
Anti-Namakhvani HPP protesters have been holding rallies for several months. Protesters demand the Economy Minister’s resignation and direct involvement of PM Irakli Garibashvili in the negotiation process.
