PM: I had opportunity to speak with U.S. President and Secretary of State, noted Georgia’s desire to restore strategic partnership

“I had the opportunity to speak with both the US President and the US Secretary of State, during which I noted that we would like to restore the strategic partnership,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists at the Memorial to the Heroes Who Died for Georgia’s Unity.

According to the Prime Minister, Georgia has taken a step toward restoring the partnership, while reciprocal steps depend on the United States.

“The visit was not to the US but to the United Nations. However, during the visit, I had the opportunity to speak with both the US President and the US Secretary of State, during which I briefly noted that we would like to restore the strategic partnership. This essentially depends on the United States itself. We have taken a step from our side and are waiting for reciprocal steps. This was my message during the brief conversations, both with the US President and the Secretary of State.
