Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, accompanied by government officials, attended the funeral service for individuals repatriated from the occupied region of Abkhazia.
During the service that took place at Tbilisi Trinity Cathedral, the PM paid tribute to the memory of the deceased and extended his condolences to the family members.
As a result of repatriation efforts, 14 soldiers and six civilians, who had gone missing during the armed conflicts of the 1990s, were brought back from occupied Abkhazia.
The armed actions in the 1990s and the August 2008 war resulted in over 2,000 people considered missing in Georgia.
