PM: Gov't now has opportunity to enforce law with full severity in all areas

“Now, we have the opportunity to enforce the law with full rigour in all areas—whether drug-related, organized, corrupt, or politically motivated crimes—something that was not possible in the past due to objective reasons,” Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Adjara.

He noted that questions about the fight against crime should not be directed to the Prime Minister.

“Regarding corruption, there were times when artificial challenges prevented us from applying the law with full severity. Now, those obstacles are removed, and the law can be enforced equally in all areas.

As for the fight against crime in general, such questions should not be directed to me, as it is not the Prime Minister’s role or authority to decide on the initiation of criminal cases,” Kobakhidze said.
